Stop the Urban Forestry Industrial Complex

Across San Francisco, a flawed City policy is preventing new trees from being planted in neighborhoods like SoMa, Bernal Heights, Hayes Valley, and Glen Park. Instead of getting new trees, residents are seeing their neighborhood canopy shrink. To make matters worse, The City is misdirecting $12 million in Federal funds that should be helping our highest-need communities.

Hayes Creek revitalization

For millions of years SOMA Springs was a riparian zone at the confluence of the Mission Creek and Hayes Creek watersheds. In response to the tragic destruction of SOMA Springs, we are redoubling our efforts and expanding our mission scope to reforest the entire South of Market Area.

We are Friends of SOMA Springs

ATTENTION: The SF Chronicle is spreading false accusations that FoSS is 1. fake and 2. in the past tense. This FAKE newspaper better check its facts!! Friends of SOMA Springs is very much real and demands an immediate retraction. If Mr. Dineen does not correct these factual errors he will be considered an Enemy of the Springs.

Gone but not forgotten

Barbarians from City Hall plow under the last natural wetlands in San Francisco. Wonton destruction of pristine habitat will not be forgotten ✊

This was SOMA Springs

The last naturally occurring wetland environment in San Francisco. 😢

As for your high towers and monuments, there was a crazy fellow once in this town who undertook to dig through to China, and he got so far that, as he said, he heard the Chinese pots and kettles rattle; but I think that I shall not go out of my way to admire the hole which he made. Many are concerned about the monuments of the West and the East—to know who built them. For my part, I should like to know who in those days did not build them—who were above such trifling.
